With kindergartens in Guangzhou reopen in waves on June 2, the last lot of students have got back to school. Here comes the question: when will the summer holiday fall this year?

According to an earlier announcement from the Department of Education of Guangdong Province, elementary and secondary schools will start their summer vacations no later than August 1st, with the fall semester will be scheduled to start as normal.

Guangzhou, Zhongshan, Dongguan, Zhuhai, Huizhou, Heyuan, Maoming and Qingyuan have released specific dates for when summer holidays will start.

Zhongshan has also released a statement saying that schools can arrange an extra day each week for final-year senior high students to prepare for examinations, however, other students shall not have to make up for missed classes.

Zhuhai has announced, primary and high schools shall not have classes adjusted on official holidays, with the exception of final-year senior high students are to be allotted one day on weekends to prepare for examinations.
