Passenger crowding control in Guangzhou Metro starts again from February 28th. According to Guangzhou Metro, there has been a sharp increase in passenger flow. To minimize risk during the epidemic, some stations on Line 1, Line 3 (including the north extension) and Line 6 will start limiting passenger flow during rush hour.

Passenger flow has changed in line with Guangzhou's policies of resuming work and production. With residents returning to work, the daily average passenger flow of Guangzhou Metro has surged from 700,000 to 1.4 million over the last month, and reached 2.3 million this week. The passenger flow during the morning peak is also on the rise.

Although it is about a quarter of the daily average passenger flow of more than 9 million last year, Guangzhou Metro still announced that it will implement passenger flow control measures in some busy stations during peak periods, due to concerns about crowding during the epidemic.
