Have you noticed that the Metro and bus are less crowded than usual, and it’s far easier to call a cab during these days? Since the Spring Festival is around the corner, a large number of people working or studying in this city are heading home for reunion with their family. Check out the following tips for a more convenient Spring Festival travel:

Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport check-in begins at 3:30 a.m.

From January 19th to 24th, Baiyun Airport will open the check-in counter for domestic flights as early as 3:30 a.m., for China Southern Airlines domestic flights starting from Guangzhou hub at 4:00 a.m., and for international flights at 5:00 a.m.

The airport reminds that due to the dense flow of self driving cars heading north, passengers may as well check the traffic conditions before planning the route, and arrive at the airport 2-3 hours in advance. Domestic flights check-in stops 45 minutes before departure.

Make a detour to reduce traffic congestion on the expressway

Vehicles heading north surge at the Shaoguan section of Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway, Lechang-Guangzhou Expressway and Wuhan-Shenzhen Expressway, which has put the traffic into an over-saturated state for several days.

Aside from traffic information update, Shaoguan traffic police will also strengthen traffic control and guidance. Drivers may follow the traffic information in time and take an alternative route if necessary.
