The 2nd World Eco-Design Conference (WEDC) is scheduled to be held at the Conghua Eco-Design Town in Guangzhou between December 5th and 7th. On the theme of ‘innovative design, custom-made dream’, the conference is set to draw over 380 participants from design associations, universities and established corporations worldwide.

With the aim of promoting cooperation and exchange of ideas on ecological design, the conference features roundtables, forums, seminars, carnivals, and exhibitions that will showcase digital art, innovative products, and Conghua’s new industries.
In addition, Bangladesh, Cambodia and Thailand will be the guest countries of honour, displaying their eco-design and other industries during the conference. According to Krongkanit Rakcharoen, Consul General of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Guangzhou, Thailand will showcase a wide range of merchandise specially designed for eco-sustainability under the Thailand Trust Mark (TMARK), a symbol of excellence and trusted quality that was established to add distinctive value to Thai products and services.

What’s more, a country music festival and a light show will be held in the Eco-Design Town on the evenings of December 6th and 7th respectively.
The conference is being organized by the China Industrial Design Association (CIDA) and the People’s Government of Guangzhou Municipality. It is supported by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the People's Government of Guangdong Province, and the China National Light Industry Council.
