Inconsiderate behaviour to be banned on the metro

Starting from April 1st next year, behaviour including eating and drinking as well as playing music or videos without headphones on the metro will be forbidden.

The Ministry of Transport introduced a new regulation last week banning all passengers nationwide from eating or drinking on the metro. The regulation excludes infants and people with certain medical conditions.

A poll, initiated by Caixin.com, shows that more than 55% of participants chose “making a racket and using phones without headphones” as the most irritating behaviour in metro passengers.

Guangzhou published a draft regulation in July clearly stating that metro riders are prohibited from skateboarding and roller skating, making a racket, playing musical instruments and playing music through speakers.

 

●The following are all illegal:

1. Graffitiing or vandalising the metro station or trains.

2.Carrying pets (excluding guide dogs and patrol dog),

3. Carrying anything with a pungent smell.

4.Begging or any business activities, like selling and promoting

5.Noisy activities, such as street performances or using electronic devices at a loud volume.

6.Riding hoverboards, electronic bicycles, bicycles, skateboard and skates.

7.Eating on the train (not including babies or patients).

8.Spiting or relieving yourself on the train,

9. Littering

10. Lying or standing on the seats.

11.Any other behaviour that might disturb other passengers.


●Terms forbidden on the subway:

1.Stopping the train by standing on the track, getting on/off the train when there is ringing bell or chime, or trying to open the door after it is closed.

2.Unauthorized use of emergency or safety devices in a non-emergency situation.

3.Carrying toxic, harmful, inflammable, explosive, radioactive, corrosive, or other dangerous substances, or any other substances that may endanger the safety of person and property into the station and train.

4.Climbing or crossing fences, guardrails, guard nets or platform doors; entering cabs, track, tunnels or other areas with warning signs without permission.

5.Throwing objects at rail transit lines, trains, and other facilities.

6.Damaging vehicles, platform doors, ticket vending machines or other equipment;

7.Interfering with communication signals, video monitoring equipment and other systems.

8.Damaging, removing, or covering safety signs, monitoring facilities, or safety protection equipment.

9.Smoking in the station or on the train, lighting a fire.

10.Pushing and shoving in an operating elevator or on an escalator.

11.Any other behaviour that affect the operational safety of the metro.
