The Guangzhou International Family Theatre Festival, the first ever of its kind held in south China, has showcased 86 shows by 29 family theatre companies from 11 countries and regions including Spain, Canada, and U.S.A. for about 70,000 audience in the city over the past two years.

The third edition of the festival will continue to showcase both domestic and foreign family stage productions to local residents this summer, including drama, musicals and a variety show. Government subsidy has allowed some hefty discounts on ticket prices, with cheapest tickets being 61 RMB.
