On April 15th, the leading group for the work on the Guangdong Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ) held a meeting to further study General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech on Guangdong. The group leader and Guangdong governor Ma Xingrui said at the meeting that, Guangdong should promote FTZ’s innovative development by means of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The meeting stressed that the establishment of the FTZ is an important measure in deepening reform and opening-up in this new era.
As the leading area in the construction of the Greater Bay Area, Guangdong FTZ should implement the ‘several measures to support deepening reform and innovation in the FTZ with courage and wisdom. And it should make efforts establish a high-level hub dedicated to opening-up with a number of reform issues and projects completed.
The construction of the GBA should be the FTZ's guiding principle. At the core of system innovation, more exploration will be made into the connection with the rules of both Hong Kong and Macao's systems, so as to promote the orderly flow of personnel, logistics, capital and information, and to continue to build a good platform for cooperation between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.
