Chinese citizens intending to find a job outside China are urged to check the real condition of potential overseas employers and contracting enterprises to make sure that their salaries will be paid fully in time.

According to a statement by the Ministry of Commerce today on its website, the deteriorating financial position of some overseas employers due to the global financial crisis has affected the rights and interests of their workers from China.

One of the latest cases involves some 200 Chinese construction workers facing salary payment default in Romania.

From January to November this year, China's foreign labor service cooperation is valued 7.24 billion USD, up by 24.2 percent over the same period of last year. The new contracts signed during the period are worth 6.74 billion USD, an increase of 17.2 percent. The number of personnel exported reaches 372,000, which is 46,000 more than that of the same period of last year.

At the end of November 2008, 794,000 laborers work on overseas jobs, which is 51,000 more than that by the same month of 2007.

By the end of November 2008, the turnover of foreign labor service had registered 55 billion USD while the contracts had reached 59 billion USD. Altogether 4.56 million labor service personnel had been exported.
