Top Chinese leaders including President Hu Jintao and former President Jiang Zemin have made donations to people in natural disaster-hit areas and poverty-stricken regions of the country, to help them spend the winter in warmth.

Wu Bangguo, Wen Jiabao, Jia Qinglin, Zeng Qinghong, Li Changchun, Xi Jinping, Li Keqiang, He Guoqiang and Zhou Yongkang also made their donations to the natural disaster victims and poor people.

Following the top leaders, Party members of departments under the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) participated actively in the donation, bringing with them woolen clothes, cotton-padded clothes, quilts and mattresses, and cash, to the collection stations.

It's the third year for the departments under the CPC Central Committee to participate in the donation campaign, which was initiated by Hu Jintao in 2005.
