Senior officials from China and Russia on Wednesday vowed to promote cooperation in all fields in a plenary session of the China-Russia Friendship Committee for Peace and Development.
The meeting was the seventh of the committee, which aims to promote contact between the people of the two countries and boost bilateral ties, and was founded in 1997.
China and Russia have carried out fruitful cooperation in trade and economy, energy, investment, science, technology and military, culture and social affairs, said Li Guixian, a senior Chinese political advisor and co-chairman of the committee.
The strategic partnership between two countries has recorded a fast and sound development, said Li, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference in a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov Tuesday.
Lavrov said the China-Russia Friendship Committee for Peace and Development was a major channel for expanding civil exchange, saying that Russia attaches great importance on the committee.
The committee consists of 30 to 35 members from each of the two countries and focuses on coordinating non-governmental exchanges, organizing non-governmental activities and presenting suggestions on the development of the Sino-Russian relations.
