China will fulfil an open trial system of intellectual property rights violation cases and invite representatives from foreign governments and international organizations to hear IPR trials.

Director of State Office of Intellectual Property Protection Jiang Zengwei said on Wednesday in Beijing that China will carry out a mechanism this year to strengthen IPR protection.

The director noted that the court will also invite deputies to the National People's Congress, members of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, delegates from industrial associations and relevant departments, experts and scholars to hear trials.

It is the first time that a mechanism to invite overseas representatives to hear IPR trials in China has been enacted.

Recently, courts in Guangdong province and Shanghai municipality have invited deputies at foreign enterprises with IPR violation cases and foreign embassy workers in China to IPR criminal case trials.

It is said the court will choose influential IPR infringement cases in the implementation of the IPR open trial system. Important information from the trials will be publicized to enhance the transparency of the execution of laws protecting IPR.
