The All-China Federation of Literature and Arts of Public Security, a writers' club for Chinese police, was established in Beijing Wednesday (Dec. 29).
State-Councilor and Minister of Public Security Zhou Yongkang attended the founding ceremony of the police writers' club. Zhou is also member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.
Sun Mingshan, head of the ministry's Political Department, was elected the president of the club. Sun addressed the ceremony, pledging to further promote the cultural undertakings of the public security force.
Movies, TV dramas and novels about Chinese police and their fight against criminals have been very popular in the country.
