South China's Guangdong Province held a one-day online investment seminar with Hong Kong on Tuesday (June 29th).
The Greater Pearl River Delta Online Investment Seminar 2004 was the first of its kind.
It highlighted the advantages of using Hong Kong as a service platform and Guangdong as a manufacturing base and aimed to attract companies and individuals to invest in Hong Kong and Guangdong, particularly potential investors from North America, Europe, Japan and Southeast Asia.
The seminar featured speeches by senior government officials including Hong Kong Chief Secretary for Administration, Donald Tsang, Director-General of InvestHK, Mike Rowse, and the Guangdong Department of Foreign Trade and Economic Co-operation Director-General, Liang Yaowen.
Guangdong officials also addressed questions on investment in the province. The seminar was held on the Greater Pearl River Delta Web site, which had been created to promote the advantages of investing in the province.
