With the situation in Thailand stablising, tours to the country resumed today (September 25). The first tour group to Thailand after last week's military coup, left Guangzhou at 3:15 this afternoon.
This tour group contains 21 travelers. Other cancelled tour groups will resume soon. Some major travel agencies in Guangzhou estimate all tours to Thailand will return to normal by Thursday. It is expected the travel to Thailand will peak later this week.
Statistics from major travel agencies show that between 30 and 50 per cent of citizens who had planned to go to Thailand, are changing their minds, 20 percent are deferring their travel date, and 10 to 20 percent opting to cancel the tour.
