Macao chief attends Canton Fair

Chief Executive of Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) Chui Sai On departed Thursday to lead an official delegation that will attend the opening of the 110th China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair.

A statement issued by the Information Bureau said Chui will meet officials from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce during his stay in Guangdong province.

According to the Information Bureau, the opening ceremony of the event will take place Friday and the Macao delegation will return the same day.

The secretary for Economy and Finance Francis Tam Pak Yuen and president of the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute, Jackson Chang, will also be part of the delegation, among other officials and local businesspeople.

The event lasts till Nov. 4.

Florinda Chan, Secretary for Administration and Justice, will act as the chief executive during Chui's absence, according to the statement.
