First-stage of Guangzhou metro line 6 to put into operation by next year

On August 3rd, a "New Guangzhou, New Business" Key Construction Projects meeting was held. News from the meeting indicated that in the first half year, the construction of key city projects was going well, and RMB 30.6 billion construction funds were available, with 37 percent of the total now completed. Pan Jianguo, the Director of Guangzhou Reform and Development, stated that 36 important tasks were in place, including the following key projects:

The first-stage project of Metro Line 6: to be completed and put into use by the end of 2012

The second stage of Guangzhou-Foshan Metro Line: to be completed by the end of 2013

The second stage of Metro Line 6 and the first stage of Metro Line 9: to be completed by 2015

Construction project of expanding production scale of Guangzhou Honda: Investment amount totaling RMB 930 million, the increased production ability of Zengcheng Factory of Guangzhou Toyota reaching 120 thousand autos per year

Guangzhou International Medicine Port: adjustment of the plan of this project has been approved by the Municipal Planning Committee after consulting with the Bureau of Urban Planning of Guangzhou Municipality

China Mobile Southern Base: the construction drawing of 110 kilovolts electric substation has been approved by the Electricity Supply Bureau; gas pipelines were built and will be put into use in middle August.
