Over 10 projects to be constructed this year in Sino-Singapore Knowledge City

More than 10 infrastructure projects will be launched this year in Sino-Singapore Knowledge City, including sewerage treatment, water and power supply system, watercourse remediation and landscape, common trench, ecological green lane and green lane for leisure. The constructions of major express highway and transportation networks inside the City will be accelerated, including Knowledge Avenue, Yongjiu Expressway and Eastern Expressway.

The Working Committee of Guangzhou Development Zone will actively follow up the examination and approval and finish the detailed planning approval of the Initial Area of the City. Vigorous efforts will also be made to bring the City into the Key Projects of the National and Provincial "Twelfth Five-Year Plan", as well as securing approval of the Initial Area being brought into the administrative management of the Guangzhou Development Zone; and to finish the local legislation process. Moreover, Comprehensive Reform and Experimental Zone of Innovative Knowledge Economic Development will be established by means of the formation of a joint-venture enterprise, which will be responsible for the development and construction of the City.

At the same time, projects introductions will be enhanced with specific goals and a prioritized implementation schedule set up. The aim being to make good use of the international investment attraction network of Singapore and the launch of global investment attractions, with the aim of bringing more cutting-edge projects on line with the knowledge economy. Further to extend investment attraction services by covering negotiation, signing contracts, examination and approval and construction. At this stage it is envisaged that more than 10 projects should be launched by the end of this year; and with the accelerated investment attraction of Bio Island, a total of some 20 projects could be launched by the end of this year.
