Cultural firms highlighted

With a 1.1 billion yuan ($177 million) contract, Zhuhai Gemdale Port Cultural Business Park led the list of agreements signed on the first day of the 10th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair, which opened Thursday.

Projects signed on opening day included the China Creation & Research Base of Fine Arts Guangdong Base and the Financing City Network Gemdale Port Cultural Business Park Service Centre.

Teamed with the Art Development Centre of the Ministry of Culture, the 100 million yuan ($16 million) Gangdong Base will design and organise international and national professional and artistic art creations, theoretical research, academic learning and art-related academic exhibitions and activities. It aims to serve as an academic and industrial interactive platform, lead academic construction of the cultural industry, build a new highland for cultural industry research and development, and boost the city's construction and prosperity of cultural undertakings and cultural industry, according to Liu Xiangyang, marketing manager of the business park.

On the other hand, the 1 billion yuan ($160 million) Financing City Network Gemdale Port Cultural Business Park Service Centre is a joint venture of a cultural communication centre and the Gemdale Power Port Cultural Business Park. The Financing City Network is dedicated to solving fiscal problems for small and medium-sized businesses. Meanwhile, a base of the service centre, the Gemdale Power Port, will provide financing services for filming projects of businesses in the park with the aim of resource sharing, cooperation and joint development.

Five cultural and creative industrial parks and more than 30 enterprises took part in the cultural industries fair.

Babo Panmily Theme Children's Park, Xiaomi Family Entertainment Centre composed of Xiaomi television sets, Xiaomi TV Boxes and Android video game consoles, serial online games developed by Kingsoft Software, cartoons produced by Legendtoonland ltd, Garage Kits co-developed by Beiyitang Cultural Communication co ltd and Tencent, Kingsoft and Xishanju Studio, HiVi Research, one of the world's leading high-quality, hi-end audio driver manufacturers, and many others were showcased at the Zhuhai Pavilion during the fair.
