China-Portuguese-speaking Countries Sci-Tech Exchange & Achievement Transformation centers in Zhuhai and Macao came closer to reality on June 18.

The news was announced at the 15th Meeting of the Mainland-Macao Science & Technology Cooperation Committee in Macao. This marks another step forward since the project was proposed in 2019.

Over the past two years, visits by the Zhuhai Science & Technology Innovation Bureau to the Ministry of Science & Technology have led to a draft of the role of each center.

The Macao center will focus on the R&D and incubation of front-end industrial technology and financially support the establishment and expansion of industries. Meanwhile, the Zhuhai facility will bridge Macao and the Chinese mainland industrial, policy, and talent resources, and boost industrialization of sci-tech exchange and cooperation achievements.

Both centers will exchange information and cooperate in trade, conferences and exhibitions, sci-tech incubation, joint research, training, collaboration networking, and technological output. They will handle much regarding technological transfers and innovation cooperation between China and other countries along the Belt & Road.
