Starting from October 17th, passengers on all domestic flights to Guangzhou must show their health code when arriving at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport.

More than 300 health QR codes including two of the most frequently used codes in Guangdong ‘Suikang’ and ‘Yuekang’ as well as some national health codes are displayed around the baggage carousel and every exit gate in the arrival hall to let the passengers scan in advance.

For those whose mobile phones have run out of power and those who do not have a smart phone, especially the elderly people and children, they can fill the health registration form under the guidance of the working staff at the airport and then go get their luggage.

Airport staff members will check passengers’ health codes before their baggage claim. Only passengers with green codes will be granted entry, while those with red codes will be denied. The latter will have their temperature checked before any further arrangements to be made.

Before, the entry requirement of a health code mainly applied to those who wanted to access either of the airport’s two terminals, for example, the outbound passengers and the staff working at the airport. However, the inbound passengers now also need to present their green ‘Suikang’ or ‘Yuekang’ codes upon arrival at the two terminal halls.

The health code requirement is to further ensure the safety of all passengers to Guangzhou. In the meantime, every inbound and outbound passenger still needs to have their body temperature checked at checkpoints before accessing the airport terminals.

According to Baiyun Airport, every airport and airline company will check passengers’ health codes before departure.
