Guangzhou Evergrande midfielder Paulinho says the rest of the world should follow China's example in fighting COVID-19.
Former FC Barcelona midfielder Paulinho, who plays for Guangzhou Evergrande, is currently in Brazil with his family waiting for the Chinese Super League to start.
The midfielder was given permission from his Chinese club to travel to Brazil after the decision to delay the start of the Chinese season due to the coronavirus.
He had to spend two weeks in isolation on returning to Brazil and he will have to do the same again when he returns to China, but speaking to Barcelona based newspaper, El Mundo Deportivo, Paulinho had nothing but praise for China's handling of the health crisis.
"This is no joke and from my experience in China, I think that the rest of the countries should take the measures they adopted there. People should stay inside their homes," he said.
"I recommend people should stay at home and wash their hands well and wash them constantly," added Paulinho.

The player said he expected to be returning to China soon.
"When I get back I will have another two weeks quarantine at home, so I don't think it will be long before I go back, because they are talking about the league maybe starting at the beginning of May," he said.
