The first China Youth Physician Humanities Forum was held at the Zhanjiang campus of Guangdong Medical University on Nov 10, inviting experts from the medical and humanities fields to explore the career value orientation of physicians, further strengthen medical humanities construction, and improve medical services.

Co-sponsored by the Youth Committee of the Chinese Medical Doctors Association Medical Humanities Committee, Guangdong Medical University, the Affiliated Hospital of Guangdong Medical University, and the Guangdong Life Care Association, the event attracted nearly 500 young physicians and medical students from Beijing, Hebei province, Hunan province, Anhui province, Ningxia Hui autonomous region, Guangdong province, as well as other parts of the country.

Medical humanities experts and practitioners made reports at the forum in an activity themed around "from famous doctors to good doctors: the value pursuit of doctors in the new era."

Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Dongfang Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, and the Affiliated Hospital of Guangdong Medical University were identified as the first batch of "Chinese Young Physicians and Humanities Station" at the forum. In the future, the humanities stations will carry out medical humanities education, as well as academic and practical exchange activities to help improve the humanities and literacy levels of young physicians.
