The organizer of the China International Furniture Fair (CIFF) will partner up with the nation's leading exhibition planners to make the industrial expo even more successful and influential.

The organizer has also recently inked an agreement to team up with four of China's leading furniture designers and furniture expo planners, Wen Hao, Hou Zhengguang, Song Tao, and Zhou Chenchen, to make next year's Guangzhou session of CIFF more design-orientated and design-intensive.

"CIFF (Guangzhou) has earned its leading position in China's furniture trade fairs. We are introducing the mechanism of exhibition planners to make our leadership sustainable," noted Liu Xiaomin, general manager of China Foreign Trade Guangzhou Exhibition General Corp, which organizes the annual international furniture expo in Guangzhou in March.

"We hope our exhibition planners will help secure innovative firms, design-driven brands, and designers' brands to the furniture gala and turn CIFF (Guangzhou) into a leading look into of the world's household industry by the year 2025," he added.

According to Wen Hao, head of the furniture research institute of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts and one of the exhibition planners, as the first move of the exhibition planners, the team will center around the theme of "New Era for China's Furniture Design," and organize the first exhibition of China’s furniture designs and furniture designers' brands in the past decade, integrating design awards, academic forums, and publications to invigorate the industrial expo.

"We hope CIFF (Guangzhou) will become the number one exhibition of China's furniture designs, as well as the ideal platform for showcasing Chinese furniture designers and their brands," Wen said.

Next year's CIFF (Guangzhou) will be held in two phases. The first session, set from March 18 to 21, 2020, will focus on home furnishings, while the second session, set to run from March 28 to 31, 2020, will display furnishings for offices and commercial spaces, as well as machines for making furniture and furniture-related raw materials.

Occupying an area of more than 760,000 square meters, this year's CIFF (Guangzhou) in March attracted more than 4,300 exhibitors and 60 furniture designers from home and abroad, a record high in scale and in the number of exhibits.
