Sarod Maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, along with his sons Mr. Amaan & Ayaan Ali Bangash presented the melodies of Indian Classical Music to the audience in Guangzhou on June 18, 2019 at the iconic Xinghai Concert Hall.

They were accompanied by Satyajit Talwalkar on Tabla and Sridhar Parthsarathy on Mridangam. The Guangzhou performance was co-organized by Consulate General of India in Guangzhou together with Chaiti Arts Foundation and was part of Ustad Amjad Ali Khan’s 2019 China tour.

The Maestro struck a positive chord with his audience by declaring he felt at home. He emphasized that, of all the mediums of communication, music has the potential to connect all of humanity.  For this reason, music is considered divine in Indian culture; it is a way to experience boundless love and harmony.

The other four musicians who shared the stage with the Maestro are recognized experts in their domains. The Bangash brothers represent the seventh generation of a great Sarod lineage. Parthasarathy and Talwalkar, who represent illustrious music schools, are among India’s most accomplished percussionists.  On stage, they blended their styles and the local audience were delighted by the rhythm of the performance.
