ACF | An encounter with Asian cultures and cuisines in Guangzhou

Over the next seven nights, special cultural and artistic shows under the theme of food and cultures in Asia will be staged at Haixinsha Island.

The Asian Cuisine Festival (ACF), a key component of the Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations, kicked off its Guangzhou sub-event on May 16th, attracting foodies from across the world eager to get a taste of Cantonese cuisine, Chinese food, and delicacies from other parts of Asia.

Over the next seven nights, special cultural and artistic shows under the theme of food and cultures in Asia will be staged at Haixinsha Island. The shows start at 20:00 every night and last for 1 to 1.5 hours. The ticket information is as follows.

The Asian Cuisine Festival Cultural Performance with the theme of ‘Our Asia, Our City’ was held at Haixinsha Park in Guangzhou on the evening of May 16th, 2019. The following week will also include a range of forums on topics, such as food and health care, as well as the development of food industries, with participation of guests from across Asian countries.

In addition, activities like an Asian cuisine-themed story-sharing session, guest countries of honor special day event, an exhibition on Asian food culture, and the Asian Beer Culture Festival will also be among the festival's highlights.

An event called "My Encounter with Asia" is being held from May 16th to 23rd throughout the city, as one of the main activities of the ACF. Asian consular corps in Guangzhou, hotels, and foreign restaurants are setting up stands for tourists and residents to enjoy their local cuisines.

May 17th marked the Japanese section of "My Encounter with Asia," which includes a show featuring the dissection a 300-kilogram tuna, a traditional Kagami Biraki ceremony, tea ceremony performances, and Japanese food tasting during a night cruise along the Pearl River.
