The May Day holiday will be extended from three to four days this year.

To meet the travel demand in the late spring and early summer season, China Southern Airlines Shenzhen Co. will increase the number of flights to Moscow, Russia, to four per week. The flights will operate every Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday starting May 10. Flights from Shenzhen to Dubai in the Middle East operated by China Southern are scheduled every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday starting June 10. China Southern flights to Sydney will operate every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. The airline has also added flights to Melbourne.

Flights to Seoul operated by China Southern will depart from Shenzhen every Wednesday and Saturday starting May 8, and the operator has added night flights to Ho Chi-Minh and Bangkok.

Domestically, tickets for China Southern flights to Lijiang, Sanya and Haikou on April 30 and May 1 have been sold out and full-priced tickets to Huangshan, Zhangjiajie and Zhoushan are selling fast, the airline said.

The flights to Sydney and Melbourne before May 2 have also been sold out.

China Southern Airlines now operates 13 international routes out of Shenzhen, and 80 percent of the tickets for the holiday have been booked.
