An exchange event to boost communication between youths in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area was held in Guangzhou’s Jinan University on January 19th. Guangdong Youth Federation, New Home Association and Macao New Chinese Youth jointly established a youth community of the Greater Bay Area during the event.
The youth community unites the service institutions and youth federations in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao to provide services to the Hong Kong and Macao youths who are studying and trying to seek employment and start their own businesses in Guangdong. It aims to help the young in different cities to be part of the Bay Area development and gain a sense of achievement.
The exchange event was co-organized by Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong SAR and All-China Youth Federation. Zhang Guangjun, Vice Governor of Guangdong and Zhang Jianjun, Chief Secretary for Administration, attended the event.
Zhang Guangjun said Guangdong has been attaching great importance to the construction of the Greater Bay Area, innovating administrative system to push forward cooperation. The Guangdong government has launched a series of convenient policies targeting Hong Kong and Macao youths, and it will work closely with the Hong Kong and Macao administrations to facilitate integrative development.
Thus far, more than 20 institutions have joined the youth community and are dedicated to a sophisticated network covering different cities and majors. The exchange event attracted about 1000 Guangdong and Hong Kong youths to attend. The participants will travel around the Greater Bay cities including Guangzhou, Zhuhai, Foshan, Zhongshan and Jiangmen. The Hong Kong youths will go back to Hong Kong through the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge to experience the mega project.
