Shenzhen has been chosen to be one of the three subvenues for the live broadcast of the CCTV Spring Festival Gala, according to a release from the organizer.

The other two cities are Jinggangshan in Jiangxi Province and Changchun in Jilin Province.

The three subvenues reflect the development of New China, from standing up to becoming rich and becoming strong.

The south square of the Shenzhen Civic Center has been chosen as the location for the subvenue and preparations are under way.

“The Mt. Jinggang period left us valuable spiritual wealth. The Mt. Jinggang spirit has been passed on from this area. During the most important festival of the Chinese nation, people in this area will sing aloud to look back down the road that led the Chinese nation and to look forward into the future in the new era,” the Spring Festival Gala program preparation committee said on its official WeChat account.

First Automobile Works (FAW), which lies in Chang-chun, Jilin Province, is regarded as the eldest son of the People’s Republic of China. FAW shows the old industrial base of modern China, and the confidence, effort and determination to rejuvenate the old industrial base of Northeast China with modern technologies.

Shenzhen, a city of fashion, science and the future, will attract the eyes of the world with its enterprising and entrepreneurial spirit.

A young city in China and a vanguard of China’s reform and opening up, Shenzhen will display its innovation and exploration through China’s 40 years of reform and opening up, the program committee said.
