China Southern and Fennair to start code sharing next April

On Dec.19th, China Southern Airlines and Fennair signed an agreement in Guangzhou to start code sharing upon approval.

According to China Southern, after getting the approval, the two airlines will start code sharing from April 22nd, 2019. The codeshare will give China Southern passengers access to around 15 European destinations including Copenhagen and Stockholm when connecting in Helsinki. Finnair customers will be able to fly to 8 destinations in China including Nanjing and Chongqing from Guangzhou, and 8 cities in Australia and New Zealand including Auckland and Sydney.

This was the first time that China Southern attempted to cooperate with an airlines from Northern Europe.

Finnair is the flag carrier and largest airline of Finland,with its headquarters in Vantaa on the grounds of Helsinki Airport, its hub. Finnair and its subsidiaries dominate both domestic and international air travel in Finland. Finnair is a member of the Oneworld airline alliance.
