2018 Delta Creativity & Innovation Celebration (DCIC) Roadshow was held at Garden Hotel on December 7th, with the theme of the Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Eight leading enterprises based in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area gave presentations on their latest projects, looking for potential partners and picturing the Bay Area’s innovative image on the global stage.
The eight companies involve in urban traffic solution, micro-feature recognition and convenience of household life, and some of them have settled in the Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (SSGKC) which is a joint project between the Guangdong and Singapore, and one of the major industrial clusters in the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Science and Technology Innovation Corridor Project.
Xu Yong, a professor of South China University of Technology (SCUT), brought his project which is a property rights trading platform based on blockchain technology.
Xu said he got in touch with a partner in Singapore and gained a start-up fund from the Sino-Singapore International Joint Research Institute which was jointly established by the SSGKC Administrative Committee, the SSGKC Investment and Development Co. Ltd., SCUT and Nanyang Technological University.
“I am hoping to apply more funds from the institute and settle the project in Singapore for the next step,” he said.
Liang Hanqing, CEO of SESTO Robotics Pte Ltd. introduced the company’s Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and Intelligent Mobile Robots (IMRs), and said the Singapore-based SESTO has settled its Chinese headquarters in the SSGKC in 2017. “We have a localized marketing team in Guangzhou and plan to form a R&D team here soon in the future,” he said.
DCIC is organized by SSGKC and it is produced by San Jiao Ling, a PR and marketing agency based in the Greater Bay Area. It attracted representatives from the SSGKC, foreign consulates in Guangzhou and enterprises from home and abroad.
Chen Changxin, CEO of SSGKC, said SSGKC has been elevated to a State-Level Bilateral Cooperation Project in April 2018. This further validates the governments’ commitment to ensuring the success of SSGKC, who push the collaboration of technology innovation, high-end manufacturing, AI, knowledge property rights protection, smart city building and urban management upgrading.
In line with the recent trend to develop the IAB industries, the 2018 DCIC will organize three roadshows with the themes of biotech & medicine, information technology and artificial intelligence in Guangzhou and Shenzhen, two major cities in the Greater Bay Area.
