Sino-Arabic art salon

The 29th Doha International Book Fair was held recently in Doha, the capital city of Qatar, with the theme of “knowledge and conscience”. It attracted about 427 publishing houses from 30 countries to exhibit.

The Department of Culture of Qatar also invited a Chinese delegation which included China National Publications Import and Export (Group) Corporation (CNPIEC), and Xu Bin Jueyi, a Chinese independent artist.

ABIDING BUDDHA, a collection of Xu’s works jointly published by CNPIEC, Unicorn Publishing House and Wen He Dong Fang, debuted in the book fair.

Xu Bin Jueyi's work, WISDOM, is collected by the Qatari royal family.

During the fair, a Sino-Arabic art salon was held in , and attended by Chinese and Arabic representatives as well as exhibitors from all over the world.

Liu Yi, leader of Chinese delegation, said Chinese art has been inclusive and developed for thousands of years. “Sculpture is one of the oldest categories in human history. Sculptors such as Xu Bin Jueyi are working hard to inject innovative elements into Chinese tradition culture,” she said.

Xu Bin Jueyi considered art is boundless, he hopes to have more communication between Chinese art and Qatari culture. It’s believed that his book could introduce Chinese art to Qatari people and bridge between the art of two countries.
