The 15th International Finance Forum (IFF) Annual Global Conference will be held in Guangzhou from November 23rd to 25th. Since the conference came to Guangzhou last year, it has become an important platform for the city to attract high-end financial firms and talent.

Highlighting “new globalization”, the conference features keynote speeches, policy dialogues, seminars and round-table meetings for discussing global issues including trade, finance, technological innovation and reform and opening-up.

This year the keynote will be on China’s globalization, coinciding with the 15th anniversary of the IFF. Under the new era of globalization, the annual meeting will explore future development directions, challenge and opportunity, and problem resolution, all introduced by Sun Yiting, Deputy Secretary General of the IFF.

At present, more than 200 distinguished guests have confirmed their attendance at the conference, including: the 11th President of the European Commission and the former Prime Minister of Portugal Jose Manuel Barroso, former PM of South Korea Han Seung-soo, former President of the Philippines Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

The IFF is an independent, non-profit and non-governmental international organization and a regular platform for global high-level dialogue and academic research in the financial field. It was founded in Beijing in October 2003 under the initiative of over 20 countries and regions including China, U.S. and E.U. member states, important international organizations such as the U.N., and a large number of financial institutions and financial leaders.

Due to its growing influence on global finance, the IFF Annual Global Conference is sometimes referred to as the F20, a companion piece to the politically oriented G20 Summit.

By encouraging dialogue through more extensive cooperation and further exploring the impact of these changes and new rules, the IFF aims to deliver forward-looking ideas and possibilities for the future of the global economy and financial system.
