Using a WeChat mini program, guests at 153 of Guangzhou's three-star hotels have been able to register with an electronic identity card and facial recognition software, allowing for easier check-ins during visits to the city.
Residents of Guangdong province who enter the Yueshengshi mini program are required to set up a facial recognition profile so that the system can check them and issue an electronic ID card.
For those who are not residents of Guangdong province, the mini program also provides electronic residence permits. People who have obtained a residence permit in Guangdong province and are in the validity period can also register in three-star hotels in the province via mobile phone.
By the end of this year, Guangdong Provincial Public Security will gradually promote the application of electronic ID card and electronic residence permits in more hotels under three-star level in Guangdong province.
