Guangzhou is about to issue a limited edition national Yangchengtong card that will work in more than 200 cities across the country, including 21 cities in Guangdong province, Beijing, Tianjin and Nanjing.
Five thousand cards, with a design combining Guangzhou's five ram statue and the Canton Tower, will be issued on Nov 8. It will have the "China T-union" logo in addition to the standard Yangchengtong one.
The special card will still give the same discount on tickets as the ordinary card, allowing for 40 percent off the ticket price after taking the bus or subway 15 times in a month.
