Canton Fair helps companies expand friend circle

During the 124th session of Canton Fair, China’s manufacturing once again attracted worldwide attention. According to Chong Chong Tik, General Manager of ES Event Management Sdn. Bhd., Malaysian companies regard Canton Fair as a high-level platform where they hope to showcase new products and get feedback from buyers across the globe.

Formed in 1989, ES Event Management Sdn. Bhd. is a multinational exhibition company that mainly organizes outbound trade fairs. Its business also covers advertising and home furnishing. As one of the very first overseas importers in Canton Fair, ES Event Management Sdn. Bhd. helps organize Malaysian entrepreneurs to the fair in the hope of strengthening economic and trade cooperation between Malaysia and China.

Established in 1957 as an important window to the world, Canton Fair has played an active role in China’s opening up and socio-economic development. Malaysia is one of the countries along the Belt and Road. In this session, over 20 Malaysian companies showcase their products. Most of them are home appliances.

“Malaysian companies have high expectations for Canton Fair,” said Chong. “They come here every year to observe and trade. Some companies look for old clients while others for new friends. Some of them even have already been to Guangzhou for over 10 times.”

“To traders and entrepreneurs, the China International Import Expo (or CIIE) to be held in Shanghai is also an excellent platform. Malaysia will arrange local companies to CIIE to learn and discover the business opportunities in China. ”

“This time we have brought a number of new companies with their new products. Through Canton Fair, they look forward to feedback from international buyers. Later they will also participate in CIIE,” said Chong Chong Tik.

As an old friend, Chong Chong Tik first visited Canton fair in 1996. “Back then it was located at the venue on Liuhua Road and there was no International Pavilion. My work was basically to bring Malaysian buyers.”

The International Pavilion of Canton Fair has been established since the 101st session. Specially open for overseas companies, the pavilion helps them explore China’s huge consumption market and offer more convenience to sell their products to the globe.
