The 15th Yunfu International Stone Materials Sci & Tech Fair and the 9th Yunfu Stone Cultural Festival are being held from October 18th to 21st in Yunfu, a city in the west of Guangdong. The exhibition area covers 30,000 square meters and the number of visitors is expected to exceed 100,000.
Hosted by the Government of Yunfu, Guangdong’s Department of Culture and Tourism and China Council for the promotion of international trade Guangdong Committee, the event is being held at Yunfu Industrial Transfer Park, in the city’s Yuncheng District.

Official said the fair has attracted 14 well-known stone producers from countries such as Iran, Turkey and Italy. A total of 209 exhibitors are showcasing advanced stone mining & processing equipment, different kinds of slabs, raw stone, and stone artifacts at the fair. The stone machinery exhibition area has on display the latest environmentally friendly equipment and techniques for stone processing.
The stone industry generated over 31 billion RMB income for the city in 2017, cementing the city’s place as an important industry hub in both China and worldwide: the event has become an important platform for attracting investment and promoting Yunfu’s stone industry, Huang Hanbiao, Party Secretary of Yunfu commented.
In the past five years, the total import and export volume in Yunfu has grown at an average annual rate of about 8% due to the stone industry, providing the city with a new development path.

Furthermore, the stone cultural festival will host various events including the city’s first stone carving & design competition, Guangdong stone crafting competition and a lecture on stone art will be held to promote cultural exchange.
Background:
Yunfu is well-known in China as the “Stone Kingdom” and “National Base & Center of Stone Materials”, with more than 3100 enterprises in the industry. The city’s stone products are sold across the world with tens of billions Yuan of annual gross industrial output value.
In recent years, Yunfu has reinforced and expanded its international influence. The trade turnover of the previous fair reaching 4.36 billion RMB.
