3-minutes from the airport. Guangzhou to build an aviation town

Located in Baiyun district‘s Renhe, is an economic pilot zone featuring an aviation town close to Guangzhou’s Baiyun International Airport. The core area of this town will be open to the public in November this year, providing more alternatives for passengers, according to Baiyun District Government.

According to Southern Metropolis Daily, the aviation town, which is under construction, covers a planned area of 3.93 square kilometers, of which the core area accounts for 0.43 square kilometers.

The aviation town, located next to Line 9’s Gaozeng metro station, is only three minutes away from Airport South Station.

For the additional convenience, a Flight Information Display System will be set up in the core area. “The check-in service will be put into operation as soon as the town opens at the end of November,” said Liu.

In addition, baggage check-in will be available as well so that passengers can relax in this area with no need to worry about missing their flights.

When it comes to the consumer prices in the town, expect it to be as affordable as possible. “Red-eye flights typically depart either too early or too late. In this case, we can find a place to rest and kill time before boarding,” said one person queried, “but we expect prices to be fairly affordable, that’s for sure.”

In 2017, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport was world’s 13th-busiest airport by passenger traffic, with 65,806,977 passengers handled. In the first half of this year, the figure hit 34 million, ranking 11th globally. At present, the airport is serving more than 210 airlines covering five continents.
