Dubai mayor visits Guangzhou

Dawood Abd Al Rahman Al Hajiri, mayor of Dubai, led a delegation to the Guangdong capital of Guangzhou on July 12.

The delegation paid a visit to the Guangzhou Urban Planning Exhibition Center, a new landmark for Guangzhou that showcases the city's planning, spirit and characteristics.

The mayor and his delegation learned about Guangzhou's experience in wastewater treatment, garbage disposal, traffic congestion, urban construction, and population size regulation.

Dubai is the largest and most populous city in the United Arab Emirates and is a global city and business hub of the Middle East. It is a regional service center for logistics, tourism, transportation, finance, and exhibitions, with business radiating throughout the Middle East and most of Africa.

Since Guangzhou and Dubai forged a sister cities relationship on April 18, 2012, they have had close exchanges in economic and trade fields, as well as high-level visits.
