Douglas Whyte, the Hong Kong champion jockey in the 2000-2001 season and winner of 13 consecutive titles, together with Derek Leung Ka-chun, Asian Young Guns Challenge winner (2010) and Tony Cruz Award winner (2017), trained three of the ranch's horses.

According to Whyte, the racing courses at Conghua horse ranch are "impeccable and feel better than those in the Sha Tin Racecourse in Hong Kong".

Leung also gave thumbs-up to the design of the racing courses and the environment of the horse ranch.

On July 12, a total of 21 race horses were transported to the Guangzhou house ranch from the Hong Kong Jockey Club. More horses will be arriving in Guangzhou on July 16.

By Aug 28, when the center at Conghua horse ranch will be fully operational, more than 140 horses will have been brought to the ranch for training.
