Travel across China with one card! National transport card issued in Guangdong officially

Good news for travel enthusiasts! Guangdong officially issued the national transport card yesterday (June 28th), allowing card holders to apply it in 14 cities in the province and also 210 cities nationwide.

Moreover, it is reported that by the end of this year the card can be used in all 21 cities in the province.

The national transport card is an IC card issued in accordance with unified technical standards and the city union project proposed by the Ministry of Transport. The card has a “China T-Union” logo and is compatible with the ticket gates and machines across the country that bear the above logo. Cardholders can use it on buses and metro in the cities that have joined the network.

Now people can apply for the E-card online. When using it, card holders can just simply scan the code on the phone. Also card users can top up the card online.


At present, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dongguan, Zhuhai, Shanwei, Zhanjiang, Chaozhou, Shaoguan, Huizhou, Jiangmen, Heyuan, Jieyang, Yunfu and Zhaoqing have joined this nationwide system.

Card holders can also use the card in 210 cities which have connected to the system, including Beijing, Tianjin and Shijiazhuang.
