Good news! High speed railway to connect Guangdong and Hainan

With the Jiangmen-Zhangjiang railway starting operation officially at the end of this month, 21 cities in Guangdong Province will be connected together by high speed railway.

From July people will be able to travel around Guangdong by high speed railway within 3 hours.

Moreover, the People’s Government of Guangdong published a new planning document recently stating that three new high speed lines will be under construction from 2018 to 2020. The three new routes are Jiangmen-Zhaoqing, Zhangjiang-Haikou (Hainan) and Shenzhen-Jiangmen-Nanning (Guangxi).

Jiangmen-Zhaoqing high speed railway

According to the planning document, the Jiangmen-Zhaoqing high speed line stretches 117 kilometers, with trains set to reach speeds of 350 km/h. Passengers can travel on to Guangxi by transferring at Zhaoqing East Station.

Shenzhen-Jiangmen-Nanning high speed railway

The length of Shenzhen-Jiangmen-Nanning is 632 kilometers with 14 stops, passing through Dongguan, Zhongshan, Yunfu and Yulin (Guangxi).

A final point: the Legislative Council of Hong Kong SAR passed a co-location bill last week meaning that the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong High speed line will begin operation in September this year.
