According to the Guangdong Meteorology Observatory, the forth typhoon this year "Ewiniar" has landed in Guangdong’s western city Zhanjiang this morning, bringing force 8 wind around the eye of it.
The accumulated rainfall over the past 24 hours. (up to 20:00, June 5th.)
It’s expected that this typhoon will stay in the province until June 8th and have a prolonged impact on rainfall. Up to 20:30, last night (June 5th), a total of 44 cities and counties in the province have issued typhoon alerts.
Guangdong will see continuous rain over the next 5 days. Western and the Pearl River Delta cities will see heavy rain or storms and force 8 winds today, and heavy rain or rainstorm during June 7-9.
Shipping service in Qiongzhou Strait has been suspended.
What you should do when typhoon comes?
1.Close windows. Avoid going out. When you have to, be aware of falling objects.
2. When going out, be aware of wells, pits, ditches, etc. If it is unavoidable to pass through waterlogged area, observe if there’s any warning signs around. If the current is fast, you’d better not go through it.
3. If you drive, avoid waterlogged area.
