The 4th typhoon this year has formed over the South China sea, and is expected to make landfall in eastern Hainan tonight (June 5th) and then reach Guangdong in the days following. As a result, Guangdong will see continuous rain over the next 5 days, says Southcn.com.

It’s reported that the typhoon is most likely to arrive in the most western parts of Guangdong tomorrow (June 6th) and won’t dispel until June 8th.

The weather is set to remain rather hot in some parts of Guangdong today, with the highest temperatures reaching 36℃. Some cities in the west of the province and the Pearl River Delta cities will see heavy rain or storms and force 8 winds later today and tomorrow.

According to Guangdong Meteorologic Observatory, this typhoon will be the first one to land in Chinese mainland this year and will have a prolonged impact on rainfall.

The Zhanjiang Maritime Safety Administration suspended shipping services in the Qiongzhou Strait as of 15:00 yesterday, due to the increasing wind strength and the uncertainty of the path the typhoon will take.
