‘Diner des Grand Chefs’ for Bocuse d’Or Asia-Pacific, 2018 to be held in Guangzhou

The “Diner des Grand Chefs” with over 100 famous chefs, including those from several Michelin-starred restaurants, will be hosted by the LN Garden Hotel in Guangzhou on May 8, 2018.

The dinner event is part of world’s top cuisine competition the Bocuse d'Or Asia-Pacific Selection and is jointly organized by GL events and Lingnan Group. The Bocuse d'Or Asia-Pacific Selection will take place at the Guangzhou Baiyun International Convention Center on May 8 and 9.

The dinner will be presented by Paul Pairet (3 Michelin star chef, Shanghai), Arnaud Dunand Sauthier (2 Michelin star chef, Bangkok), Alvin Leung (3 Michelin star chef, Hong Kong), Hisamitsu Hataji (“Meilleur Ouvrier de Japon,” Japan) and Clément Ayache (Pierre Gagnaire Restaurant, Shanghai). These 5 elite chefs will each prepare one of the five courses of the meal, featuring with best each has to offer.

The theme of the evening is "Starry Night,” inspired by the plethora of Michelin star chefs and upcoming culinary stars who will be participating in the contest. The lobby will be transformed into France’s iconic city Lyon street on a starry night, and the luminous ballroom will warmly welcome the chefs and wow the guests.

This dinner will bring together more than 300 guests and some of the world’s greatest Chefs, including Jérôme Bocuse (France and USA), Kim Byoung Jin (3 Michelin star chef, South Korea), Amandine Chaignot (UK), Maroun Chedid (Liban), Christopher Davidsen (Norway), Yoshiharu Kakinuma (3 Michelin star chef, Hong Kong), John Kellehert (New Zealand), Guy Lassausaie (France), Bruno Menard (3 Michelin star chef, Singapore), Tom Milligan (Australia), Christophe Paucod (Japan), Sakal Phoeung (Vietnam), Emmanuel Renaut (3 Michelin star chef, France), and Christian Tetedoie (France).

For the very first time in the history of the contest, the Bocuse d’Or Asia-Pacific is taking place in China. Following a round of competition in Singapore, Guangzhou has the honor of hosting the continental selection round which is going to take place on May 8. During this round, 11 teams of highly talented chefs representing 11 countries will pit their culinary talents against one other. The top 5 teams will continue on with the competition in Sirha, France.
