Exhibitors comment on Canton Fair

A number of important exhibitors at the ongoing 123rd Canton Fair were recently invited to share their experiences of the fair in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong province in the south of China.

The interview was jointly organized by the news office at China's Ministry of Commerce, the news center for the Canton Fair, and Xinhua news website.

The Canton Fair, officially named the China Import and Export Fair, is China's largest trade fair with the longest history. Presently, the fair has established trade relations with 213 countries and regions, with 116 high officials from 82 countries and regions having personally visited the fair before.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of China's reform and opening-up. The ongoing fair has an exhibition area of over 1.18 million square meters, 60,000 exhibition booths, and 25,000 exhibitors from 210-odd countries and regions.

"The Canton Fair is a window that China has opened to the world. I believe the impact made by the Canton Fair on China's proceeding with reform and opening-up is significant," Huang Dawen, vice-manager of Chinese home appliance manufacturer Changhong Group, commented.

Lin Wenguang, president of Maspion Group in Indonesia and chairman of Indonesia China Business Council, told a Xinhua reporter that if they had not participated in the Canton Fair, they would have lost plenty of opportunities.

According to Ouyang Jun, vice general manager of overseas sales department of Gree Electric Appliances Inc, the biannually fair is the most important platform for the company to make market promotion and new product releases.

The Canton Fair, first held in 1957, has witnessed the tremendous growth of China's foreign trade and the remarkable transformation from "Made in China" to "Created in China".
