The 123rd China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, opened in Guangzhou on April 15 and will run until May 5.
The metro system is one of the main modes of transportation that buyers and exhibitors choose to reach the fair complex in Pazhou. Guangzhou Metro estimates the daily passenger level will reach 8.6 million, 8.48 million and 8.85 million for the three weekly phases of the fair.
More trains during the rush hour
To cope with the increased travel volume during the fair days, the metro will run two extra trains during the weekday night rush, one extra train during the weekday daytime rush and one extra train during the weekend rush hour for Line 8, which directly links to the Pazhou complex.
Multi-language volunteer service
Multi-language information service will be provided by domestic and foreign volunteers at Exit A of metro stations, including Xingang Dong Station and Pazhou Station. Digital maps and portable chargers are also available at the information desks of the stations.
Meanwhile, guidebooks for the fair, pens, memo papers, and certain medications are being provided by the metro staffs.
Raincoats and chargers available at metro stations
Rain and thundershowers are forecast through next Wednesday. Rain sheds and raincoat kiosks have been installed at metro station entrances at Xingang Dong Station and Pazhou Station.
