A comic exhibition titled “Miracle Journey in Canton Tower” is now open to the public at the first floor of Canton Tower in Guangzhou and will last until the end of this month.

The comic works presented at this exhibition were created by 12 cartoonists from Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan during the 2017 Chinese Comics Marathon Creative Conference last September. The conference was part of the 1st China Animation & Comic Art Exhibition which is still ongoing at the Guangdong Museum in Guangzhou until April 26.

Five of the 12 cartoonists held a sharing session with dozens of comic fans at the Canton Tower on April 15, sharing their feelings about making comics in a marathon environment.

Cartoonist Wang Huihui, who finished her works first during the marathon, said that marathon comics were seen to be mission impossible, but that’s also why she created comic works with greater concentration.

Gun Ji, a famous local cartoonist who created the most works during the marathon, told the fans that she could have finished the story in a simpler way, but she broke through the pressure limit and finished the works in a more complete way.

The 1st China Animation & Comic Art Exhibition is still ongoing at the Guangdong Museum in Guangzhou, featuring about 200 animation & comic artworks selected from all around the country.

At this exhibition, you can view the conventional animation & comic artworks such as design drafts, sketches, cartoon books, illustrations, sculptures and figurines; you can also interact with the artworks and their creators via 3D, VR, interactive audiovisual and digital media devices.

The exhibition is open to the public for free and will last until April 26. Do not miss out.
