Huangpu customs services have streamlined border inspection process for foreign freighters, in order to save on cost and time for enterprises using the port.
Foreign freighters are now able to complete the border inspection process at the destination port, instead of anchorage, according to the Huangpu Border Inspection Station.
“This new policy has saved our company over 10 thousand RMB! We used to have to anchor our foreign freighters elsewhere because of the limited docking space at Huangpu. Sometimes we had to go to Zhuhai first. Now it’s much more convenient”, said Zheng Weigang from a local agency company.
As a pilot in a wider experiment in border inspection management reform across the country, Huangpu Customs services have also been pushing their paperless, online service. Furthermore, green channels will be opened in urgent cases or during peak holiday periods.
