China Southern Airlines to launch new flights eyeing on B&R Initiative

China Southern Airlines, one of the biggest airlines in China, announced recently that new routes will be launched between China and countries alongside Belt and Road Initiative, echoing to the flourishing market demands.

According to China Southern Airlines, a new direct route will be launched between Guangzhou and Rome, the capital of Italy, on July 13th. The first of the airline's direct routes between China and Italy offers flights every Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

Also, new lines including Guangzhou-Lahore and Guangzhou-Kunming-Islamabad will be scheduled, providing impetus to B&R Initiative.

2018 World Cup will be held in Russia, and China Southern has arranged more flights between Guangdong and Russia, including Guangzhou-Moscow, Guangzhou-Wuhan-Moscow, Shenzhen-Moscow and so on.

This year marks the 5th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative. During the past five years, after witnessing tremendously-soaring market demands, China Southern Airlines has rapidly expanded its flights to destinations in B&R regions and gradually established a complete network covering main cities in South Asia, Southeast Asia, Pacific Islands, Middle Asia and other key areas along B&R Initiative.

According to the latest statistics, China Southern has provided 172 routes with over 2200 flights every week connecting China with B&R countries and regions. Estimatedly, over 150 million passengers have traveled between China and those countries so far.
