GPHL’s campaign to reclaim expired medicine launched

On March 13, GPHL officially launched its campaign to reclaim expired medicine. This year, it will collect expired medicine both on and offline, accompanied by a series of activities. What are you waiting for? Come join the campaign to do your bit for environmental protection.

1. Tmall.com

First, visit GPHL’s Official Flagship Store (广药白云山官方旗舰店) on Tmall.com;

Secondly, register under the “reclaiming expired medicine” section (过期药兑换专区);

Thirdly, send or take your expired medicine to one of the designated sites;

Finally, you will receive coupons for GPHL’s products on Tm as a reward .

Period: March 13 - 31, 2018

2. Doorstep pickup service from Cainiao Express

If you are in one of the 17 cities listed below, you can use Taobao or Alipay app to scan the drug electronic supervision code (中国药品电子监管码) on the box, click to enter the “return expired medicine” section (过期药回收), fill in the information needed, then your expired drugs will be picked up by Cainiao Express (菜鸟快递).

The 17 cities include Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Jinan, Zhengzhou, Chengdu, Shenyang, Changsha, Chongqing, Tianjin, Shijiazhuang, Wuhan, Nanjing, Hefei, and Nanchang.

Period: March 13 - 31, 2018

3. Recycle at drugstores

GPHL will roll out this campaign to over 6,000 drugstores in more than 200 cities around the country. The campaign will last for one week in Guangzhou and three days in other cities. Please visit the drugstores for more detailed information. You will also get coupons or gifts for bringing expired medicine to the drugstores.

Requirements:

A) All expired common drugs, except injections and liquids (expiration date: before March 13, 2018)

B) 1-5 packages, all should have National License Medical Number or Imported Drug Registration Number;

C) Health care products, TCM decoction pieces and tonics are not included in the scope.

Last year, GPHL worked with JD.com to reclaim expired medicine in 10 cities around China via JD.com’s logistics system from August 13 to 31. Apart from working with JD.com on the doorstep pickup service, GPHL still carried out expired medicine recycling programs in more than 200 cities. All expired common drugs, except injections and liquids, can be recycled, whether produced by GPHL or not.

GPHL has been running this annual campaign for 14 years. On the 10th anniversary of the campaign, GPHL was awarded the Guinness World Record for the highest volume of expired medicine collected in 24 hours (across multiple locations) in Guangzhou on March 11, 2014.
